christmas!

My posts are always really long, so I'll try to keep it short and sweet! :) But I had a pretty good Christmas, although i had to work 6 hrs on xmas eve and xmas day! boo!

We went to as many family parties as we could, luckily some are after xmas and some are the weekend before, so we don't go completely crazy trying to make it to all of them! haha! Next year we will have to figure out a game plan for the parties and just rotate who we go and see, otherwise its a little exhausting!

James and I didn't get anything for eachother because our plan has been to wait for the Presidents' Day sales (which are always really good) and buy us a couch set for our apartment! Plus, by then we may even have James moved into one, so that we can take the couches straight there! :) So, I'm excited for it to be february so we can go buy a couch! lol! and to make a final decision on an apartment!!!

I'm sad that the holiday season is almost over, it has been a nice break, and then its back to school, work, and still quite a bit of wedding planning to do... I have a feeling I'm gonna be really busy these next few months! But it will be fun and well worth it! :)

Only 73 more days!!!! We are so excited and I hope it goes by fast! :)

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and has a Happy New Year!

oh.. and P.S. I went and bought some way cute ornaments for our Christmas tree! YAY! they are cute white reindeer that are all glittery, with red glitter noses, and green-beads as legs haha- its hard to explain, but we will have such a cute tree next year- i can't wait! oh, and I got us some cute stockings too!

87 days!!!

well... I have been counting down to our big day on facebook and we are finally down to the double-digits! YAY! hahah... this used to seem forever away, starting out with 190 days is way too long! But its finally feeling like our wedding day is gonna get here! and we are so excited! :)

Also, we went and registered at Target two weekends ago! It was really fun, but took forever! I even made a list before we went so we had focus and so nothing would be forgotten! We still managed to take a good 2 1/2 hours though! We were so exhausted by the time we got done! haha!

And.. I'm so excited about something else... something I didn't think I would EVER say I was excited about... a VACCUUM! hahah, my grandma had one that she got for like 20$ after buying something at RC Willey's and its just been in her basement for awhile, so she told me to come over and look at it and take it if I wanted to! So I did, and went right home and put it together and tried it out! LOL it was so fun! .... :)

*(not that I don't clean or anything, but I guess of all the things that come with getting married and your own place, that was something that never crossed my mind until we started thinking of stuff to register for, and even then I was more excited about pots and pans, silverware, etc... So I just thought it was funny how exited i got today when i put together my very own vaccuum! LOL )

Anyways, last night James and I went to his mom's family's Christmas party. It was so fun and reall good food! His Grandma and Grandpa just take all the adults 18 and over to dinner every year instead of buying each one a gift (because it is quite a few people now, and just easier and fun!) So we went and ate at Brickenbrackers (?) in ogden by the ogden airport, and oh yum! You need to try that place! Its more expensive i think (We did a banquet dinner so I didn't see the menu) but their yams, mashed potatoes, and chicken were SO good! (the yams were so rich though I counted them as my dessert hahah!)

Oh and another quick story! We went and looked at an apartment last night before the dinner and this apartment was so cute, cozy... but way cute! hahah, and it was just so fun finally being close enough to getting married to look at places to live! I have been thinking about where could put my decorations in that apartment and everything LOL! We are still going to keep looking, and that one is slightly more than what we would like to pay, but its definitely still on our list! yay! I can't wait to go see more and finally get an apartment! We just need to wait until about february to get real serious on actually moving James into somewhere and then moving in my stuff. He is waiting to start a new job up on base and won't start until January 4th, so after that we can get really serious about finding a place to live but its fun to start looking!

*Does anyone know of some cute apartments for around $700 a month? if so let me know! :)

HoLiDaYs!!!

I love this time of year!!! I hate the snow, and the cold, and driving on icy roads... but, the holidays and all the fun family parties make up for the crappy weather! haha.

I am especially excited for the family parties this year because even though James and I have been to each others' family parties for the last three years, this year is different...

.... this year we are ENGAGED! .........This year we are about 3 months away from being MARRIED! So I have decided this year will be even more fun! :) And I can't wait to see everyone! I love our families, they are all so fun and they are all so different from eachother, but all the parties are way fun!

* on a side note: I made James go to Target with me yesterday, because they had a "6 foot christmas tree" on sale for 20 dollars! Score! right?!... Wrong! haha I am only 5'4" and this tree was smaller than me... the box wasn't that tall either so im not sure where they got 6' from haha... anyways so there we were... sad, that the tree was a "charlie brown tree" lol..and started looking around at the decorations.

James wandered off for a minute in the christmas section and came back with an ornament it was a key, but the top of it was a heart and engraved on it was "our first christmas together- 2009" and he was like " hey! look!... next year I am going to buy you an ornament just like this one!" I thought that was so cute! I wanted to buy it but he said we should wait and have it actually say 2010 and have it be our first ornament to buy together as a married couple... how cute is that?! I love him! :)

P.S. I bought christmas ornaments last year after the holidays on clearance and ever since i have been so excited to buy my own tree since i already have a few ornaments, hahah... but I decided Ill wait until everything goes on clearance after christmas and then Ill buy my tree, but it has been hard to resist!

P.S.S. On my facebook page I have a countdown to our wedding day... i believe its at 109 days now! holy cow! I am so excited! we are almost out of the triple digits!!! hahaha

I didn't start the count down until a couple weeks after we were engaged and i think we started out then at like 192 days or something and that sounded forever away! but 109 days sounds SOOO much better! :)

Anyways... I hope everyone has an awesome thanksgiving this year!!! and the rest of the holidays too! :) I'm so thankful for so many things in my life, but mostly my family, my awesome (soon-to-be) in-laws, and of course my amazing and adorable fiance! :)

3 Years & So in Love!!

Today was our 3 year anniversary!

3 years ago today we were going on a blind date, after being set up by his mom and his cousin ashley! We went to Fazoli's and went bowling afterwards! (and i totally kicked his butt! haha)

I even got a strike, and i suck at bowling so this was a monumental moment for me :). As I walked back towards my chair, James was getting up to take his turn and gave me a hug! (i think he may have done that without really thinking about it, because half way through the hug it got a little awkward.. as in "oh whoa..ok.. i guess we are hugging... haha") That was so sweet though, and i was on cloud nine!

Then we sat in the back seat of Ashley's boyfriends truck and we all cruised the boulevard in ogden... (because thats just what you do when you have a cool truck you have fixed up and made loud and stuff! hahah)

He reached over and held my hand! Aww!..

it was the sweetest thing ever, I could tell he was nervous to do it (and of course Ashley and Kory made fun of us, when they noticed lol.)

Then, they dropped me off at my house.

Then I decided to tease him a little more about kicking his butt at bowling after telling him I was terrible at it... so i sent him a text and said something to him about it. Well, he didn't have text... ( I can't remember why) So then he had to call me to say something back. (I'm so sneaky & strategic..lol)

We ended up talking on the phone until almost 4 o'clock in the morning!!! We talked about anything and everything. Best. Night. Ever!!!

We have been inseparable since that night, and here we are 3 years later!! Can I tell you how much fun I have had since meeting him?! We have had a blast together and things are just getting better!

Some of the fun we have had:

Him giving me a promise ring on our 1 year anniversary, surprise dates and flowers, movie dates, family dinners & parties, camping, double dates, cute letters and cards, walks at the syracuse park, all of our birthdays and holidays, shopping for stuff we might want to register for for our wedding, hanging out with our families, bowling, batting cages, flaming gorge trip, and of course...ring shopping, and getting engaged on July 29th, engagement pictures, and looking forward to our wedding day (it's in 127 days! YAY!)

Today we celebrated with a quick lunch before I had to go to work. We went to this new place in clinton called "Hibachi House" it is a Japanese grill. It is really good! And the best part? it is much less expensive than Tepanyaki, (like 5-10 dollars per plate!) but almost the same, and its a ton of food! Then we went back to his house and cuddled for a few minutes and watched t.v. It was so fun and I just love being with him! He is so cute and sweet!!!

Now...If only March would get here faster! :)

TAG!

Passin the Tag Along...
What are your middle names? His is edward, and I don't have one!

How long have you been together? Three Years on NOV. 4th!!! (not married yet though) that will be on March 12... 137 days to go!!! YAY!

Who asked who out? Umm... His mom set us up so I'm not sure, but I just found out that back then before we had been set up on the date, she had a ton of the guys that we worked with (at our store in Layton and at the Ogden Hertz ask about me and ask if i was dating anyone...well, she really wanted James and I to go on a date, so she started telling them I was taken! hahaha! She finally admitted that and I think it's hilarious she waited so long to tell me, but I'm glad she made sure we went on the date!

Whose siblings do you see the most? Its even. We try to see all of our immediate family every weekend! Plus they are all younger so no one is moved away yet!

Do you have any children together? Nope, one day though, and we will be so excited for that! We have talked about having kids and getting married for a really long time!

What about pets? Definitely. We don't have any yet, but once we are actually married I want a small dog, like a tiny toy poodle (my family already has two and they are adorable, plus I'm allergic to a lot of other kinds that shed) James I'm sure will get some hunting dogs again (his ran away 2 summers ago :'( they will just have to stay outside though!)

Did you go to the same school? nope. I went to layton high and he went to Fremont.

Who is the most sensitive? I am... but there have been a few times where he has been a little teared up, but I have by far cried the most! haha

Where do you eat out most as a couple? We have a lot of favorites: Olive Garden, TGI Fridays, subway, panda express, tepanyaki, and mostly mine is Cafe Rio!!

Where is the furthest you have ever traveled as a couple? Umm... We went camping once to snowville i think... so only a couple hours away! hahah

Who has the worst temper? Probably me! haha. James is a very laid back person and not much gets to him, and when i get mad...well, its obvious, to him at least lol! (Its not ever me being mad at him, its usually traffic or something hahah)

Who does the cooking? That will definitely be me, unless it requires a crock pot or grill! (that or cereal LOL)

Who is more social? Him! He knows so many people its ridiculous! :) but I am more quiet, and I would choose hanging out just the two of us, over a group any day! (plus we only get to see each other on the weekends, so i like to have him to my self!)

Who is the neat freak? We each have our sides! hahah. Him: his truck has to be spotless! Me: I like a clean house and get grossed out by stuff being dirty (like the fridge)... lol on the other hand my car is a mess because i practically live out of it with my busy schedule!

Who is the most stubborn? I don't know... it would probably depend. I might have to say him though, but it could go either way!

Who hogs the bed? Not sure but when we cuddle on the couch he says I hog it... but I swear I'm like barely on the couch, hahaha! But to be fair I do hog the blankets in my own bed even though no one else is there to share them hahah i wake up with them like hanging off the bed on my side! lol.

Who wakes up earlier? Depends on the day and James' work schedule ( he sometimes works graveyards) but on the weekends he has to call and wake me up or I'd sleep in until like noon haha.

Where was your first date? Fazoli's and bowling at Sparetime! Then we cruised the boulevard in ogden and he held my hand... aww! :D Then, when he dropped me off we ended up talking on the phone til like 4 in the morning!

Who has the bigger family? Him by far! I have one brother, He has five! Same with our extended family, my family all only had at the most four kids... His they all had at least three kids

Do you get flowers often? umm.. not really. but its not always the same time that i do get them either, like not always on my birthday, sometimes randomly, and then when i got in my car wreck earlier this year.. so its always a suprise really, and i like that.

Who eats more? I dunno it depends, we have weird schedules, especially him. So its can go either way, but its about the same i guess.

Who sings better? I geez I don't think I have really heard him sing and I'm terrible hahaha so I don't think either of us are very good lol!

Who is better with the computer? Me! hahah... james doesn't really like to use it, except for looking on KSL, but i use it for school and work and for fun... he didn't even know what a blog was when i said i made us one! lol

Who drives when you are together? We take turns we live about 30 mins away(not too bad, but still a long enough drive late at night!), so we alternate weekends, or if one of us isn't feeling well, stuff like that...

Who picks where you go to dinner? We both do, neither of us are too picky, so it usually works out.

Who is the first one to admit when they are wrong? I don't know... we aren't married yet, and still in that "on your best behavior stage" hahah so we really haven't fought yet! haha plus we are mostly easy-going people so we just don't get into any kind of argument... lol

Who wears the pants in this relationship? He says he does... but all men think that,...but I think its equal ( i think its a macho thing! haha) plus when it comes down to it they want to make their wife/fiancee/girlfriend happy, so they don't really haha

Who eats more sweets? I don't know we each kinda go through a phase lol. one of us wants to go get ice cream for a date and the other doesn't and then we swap places! hahah

Who cries more? Me! James just won't in front of me, which I'm sure will change once we are married, and i think he would if we did ever get into a bad argument or something... and well I'm just a typical emotional girl!

What's your best day together? Just being together, visiting our families, being lazy and cuddling up to watch tv or a movie, having a pajama party after snowboarding! haha just anything as long as we get to be together we are up for anything!

Where did you honeymoon? (Haven't gone yet!) and not sure where , but I am voting so far for Vegas, because I want to see garth brooks! He just came out of retirement and so who knows if it will last and I'm dying to see it! hahah

Favorite date night? Same as best day together, adn really anything, but when he actually has something all planned out i love it, and just think its so sweet! :D

Couple I imagine us growing old like? My grandma and grandpa green! They have always been so much fun! they had us grandkids over for girls night, boys night, and kids' night, every year when we were all younger and we went on vacation alot together too. They are just adorable they met in junior high, were married by the end of junior year in high school and drive to school together as a married couple for senior year! hahah. so cute! Fifty one years later they are as cute as ever!

Engagements!

Well, last week we had Ciara Richardson (fancy bred photography) do our engagement pictures! It was such a blast, and I was worried I wouldn't know what to do or that I would look funny, but it was totally fine! James kept me distracted and kept me laughing the whole time! I have only posted a few but they are some of my favorites that Ciara picked to edit and put on her blog! I can't wait to see the rest!

(I have a few more favorites, but I don't think I can get them from her blog, the ones I have I was able to get because she tagged me in facebook! haha.)

Anyways, it was just so much fun, and made this whole engagement thing seem more real~ I mean I already picked my dress but its been almost three months since I have seen it and its being ordered so its not gonna be here forever! And...we have done a few more things, but I guess getting our pictures just made it feel like we were really making progress towards getting to our big day! :D

Last weekend we really didn't do much just hung out with his mom and youngest brother Gavon, the rest of the fam was hunting that weekend.

This weekend I'm off to see Thriller at the theatre in St. George thats supposed to be really cool. So, I guess that will be fun but I'm bummed I won't see James all weekend... I hate when that happens!

Then the next weekend is Halloween! I can't wait, we don't really have plans, but we usually take his three youngest brothers trick-or-treating. I also have the urge to make some kinf of cute halloween treat, I just haven't decided what yet!

Anyways, I'll post more pictures when we get them! I hope everyone had a good weekend, and we are almost to the next weekend! YAY! :D

I hate the Hunting Season!

So, james is gone this weekend hunting for elk! (my dad, brother, and grandpa also went on their own little trip to idaho and then got home last night to take off again today for the utah hunt) Anyways, i hate this time of year... they go on a boys only hunt and leave us girls here! I just hate having things occupy our only time together during the weekends, as a i have mentioned before! haha... Not that i want to go hunting, but just to be with him i might consider going and just staying at the trailor and reading all day with a nice cup of hot chocolate or something!

He says next year i can go and thats probably what ill do, just so i dont have to sit at home without him! anyways.. i know there are some other girls out there who know exactly how i feel about this weekend! hahah... but it sucks!

On another note, we might be getting our engagements done by Ciara Richardson (FancyBredPhotography.squarespace.com) this month! I'm hoping we can still catch some really pretty fall colors outside and I'm just so excited to get them done and feel like we can have something else done to plan our wedding! Maybe I'll even get super-motivated over the christmas break and make a scrapbook of our engagements~ that would be fun! haha.

oh and p.s. another reason i'm a little bitter James is gone this weekend is that last weekend was so insanely busy it just wasn't even relaxing... fun, but busy!

Saturday:

helped my mom take a apart the office furniture so she could stain it or paint it

ate some mac and cheese for lunch then went to his little brothers little league football game

went back to his house because he needed a nicer shirt for my friends wedding reception- haha

went to my house waited for my mom to get ready to go to the reception

went to the reception

went to dinner at iggy's- my mom paid for it to make up for all the moving we had done/and still had to do to help her with her project!

went to wal-mart bc she wanted to try and spray paint the furniture

went back and moved more of it into the garage

then finally relaxed for about an hour then the night was over.

Sunday:

woke up at 5:30 so i could be to James' house by 7- (we were going with his mom and step-dad to see his step-grandpa in idaho)

finally left his moms around 8 ish

got to idaho about 10:30am

played catch with his little cousin hailey, then we all played a softball game in the yard for a good hour at least!

ate lunch, and had some cake.

left about 2:30pm

got home at 4:30pm (to Hooper) andstarted to hook up James' horse trailor to go and pick up a big screen tv my uncle gave us! (woot woot!)

got the big screen at 6 ish (in layton)

rushed to get to my cousins joined b-day party! (hailie and lilliann turned 2- they are 5 days apart so they had a party together that was hello kitty!- so cute!) and we got there at 6:30 (riverdale) and p.s. we were and hour late hahah oops!

left the party around eight and went back to his house in hooper to finally relax a bit, then i left at 10:30 bc i had an early 7:00 class...

WHEW! such a long and exhausting weekend, it was fun, but we were completely wore out! not such a good way to start out the week!

Just a random mushy post! :)

It's been awhile and i really don't have much to say but I just wanted to post a few of the reasons that I love James, my soon-to-be husband! :)

First of all we don't get to see eachother during the week and that makes it so hard, plus i work friday nights until 11:30 so that leaves at best, only two days to be together! It really is hard and since we got engaged i think it has just made waiting for the weekend to roll around even worse! We just miss eachother so much, and it will be so nice to see eachother everyday! We can hardly wait!

March...could you please get here quickly?!?!

Anyways, after nearly 3 years of dating I love him for many reasons! But here are a few...

*He is a little kid at heart. I love the fact that I'm pretty sure we have never gone into wal-mart without stopping in the toy aisle to look at the trucks. haha. (then quickly go over to the hunting stuff like it was his original destination, when it really wasn't)

*He kisses me on the forehead, plays with my hair, and when we cuddle he rubs the side of my face with his hand.

*He really worries about me. especially with how i drive late at night every night during the week. And when i got in my wreck back in april he rushed home from work, leaving early and stopped to buy me pink flowers, and my favorite kind of gatorade. Then he made sure to read the paperwork about how to watch for signs of a concussion before we could go cuddle on the couch. :) (i was broad-sided on the driver side and smashed the window with my head, giving me terrible whip-lash, cuts all over the side of my face and a cut on my eyelid that required some lovely stitches!)

*He is adorable with little kids. This one was one of the things that made me first fall in love with him! He has 5 younger brothers and his youngest was only 3 when we started dating, and he just is so great with him and all his younger cousins adore him, at family parties i usually don't even see him because he is chasing them around the yard or something! He is going to be such a good dad one day, i can't wait! :)

*He is just a happy person, it takes a lot to make him mad, even traffic doesn't usually get to him! lol. When I get upset or mad at something or someone he comforts me and makes me calm down, and just forget about it.

*When I'm with him I'm definitely my happiest self, I don't know what it is but I'm never stressed when I'm around him, and if I am when he comes to pick me up, i just seem to completely forget about it after a few minutes.

*He makes me laugh, anyone who knows me, knows i laugh a lot, and i love how we can be complete dorks together!

Anyways, you get the point.. I'm in love...hahah, and I really can't wait to marry this guy! James is the love of my life and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with him! :)

Random Funny Thoughts for People Our Age

Okay, so while I was doing a little "blog-stalking" i came across this, I am at work and was laughing so hard at some of these i finally lost it and started laughing out loud, and it was onlt made worse when I turned to see one of the nurses i work with, looking at me like, "ummm... okay..." (you know the look when you do something kinda dumb before they know what happened and can laugh?!) Anyways, by the time I saw the look on her face I totally cracked up and all i could do was point at the computer screen, and i had tears running down face! haha.. (p.s. i think things are made funnier by nature when you try and hold back laughing out loud...) LOL! So here it is, I hope you enjoy it!

*More often than not, when someone is telling me a story all I can think about is that I can't wait for them to finish so that I can tell my own story that's not only better, but also more directly involves me.
*Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong.
*Have you ever been walking down the street and realized that you're going in the complete opposite direction of where you are supposed to be going? But instead of just turning a 180 and walking back in the direction from which you came, you have to first do something like check your watch or phone or make a grand arm gesture and mutter to yourself to ensure that no one in the surrounding area thinks you're crazy by randomly switching directions on the sidewalk.

*I totally take back all those times I didn't want to nap when I was younger.
*Is it just me, or are 80% of the people in the "people you may know" feature on Facebook people that I do know, but I deliberately choose not to be friends with?
*Do you remember when you were a kid, playing Nintendo and it wouldn't work? You take the cartridge out, blow in it and that would magically fix the problem. Every kid in America did that, but how did we all know how to fix the problem? There was no internet or message boards or FAQ's. We just figured it out. Today's kids are soft.
*There is a great need for sarcasm font.
*Sometimes, I'll watch a movie that I watched when I was younger and suddenly realize I had no idea what was going on when I first saw it.
*I think everyone has a movie that they love so much, it actually becomes stressful to watch it with other people. I'll end up wasting 90 minutes shiftily glancing around to confirm that everyone's laughing at the right parts, then making sure I laugh just a little bit harder (and a millisecond earlier) to prove that I'm still the only one who really, really gets it.
*How are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet?
*I would rather try to carry 10 plastic grocery bags in each hand than take 2 trips to bring my groceries in.
*I think part of a best friend's job should be to immediately clear your computer history if you die.
*The only time I look forward to a red light is when I'm trying to finish a text.
*Was learning cursive really necessary?
*Lol has gone from meaning, "laugh out loud" to "I have nothing else to say".
*I have a hard time deciphering the fine line between boredom and hunger.
*Answering the same letter three times or more in a row on a Scantron test is absolutely petrifying.
*My brother's Municipal League baseball team is named the Stepdads. Seeing as none of the guys on the team are actual stepdads, I inquired about the name. He explained, "Cuz we beat you, and you hate us." Classy, bro.
*Whenever someone says "I'm not book smart, but I'm street smart", all I hear is "I'm not real smart, but I'm imaginary smart.”
*How many times is it appropriate to say "What?" before you just nod and smile because you still didn't hear what they said?
*I love the sense of camaraderie when an entire line of cars teams up to prevent an idiot from cutting in at the front. Stay strong, brothers!
*Every time I have to spell a word over the phone using 'as in' examples, I will undoubtedly draw a blank and sound like a complete idiot. Today I had to spell my boss's last name to an attorney and said "Yes that's G as in...(10 second lapse)..ummm...Goonies"
*What would happen if I hired two private investigators to follow each other?
*While driving yesterday I saw a banana peel in the road and instinctively swerved to avoid it...thanks Mario Kart.
*MapQuest really needs to start their directions on #5. Pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighborhood.
*Obituaries would be a lot more interesting if they told you how the person died.
*I find it hard to believe there are actually people who get in the shower first and THEN turn on the water.
*Shirts get dirty. Underwear gets dirty. Pants? Pants never get dirty, and you can wear them forever.
*I can't remember the last time I wasn't at least kind of tired.
*Bad decisions make good stories.
*Whenever I'm Facebook stalking someone and I find out that their profile is public I feel like a kid on Christmas morning who just got the Red Ryder BB gun that I always wanted. 546 pictures? Don't mind if I do!
*Is it just me or do high school girls get sluttier & sluttier every year?
*If Carmen San Diego and Waldo ever got together, their offspring would probably just be completely invisible.
*Why is it that during an ice- breaker, when the whole room has to go around and say their name and where they are from, I get so incredibly nervous? Like I know my name, I know where I'm from, this shouldn't be a problem....
*You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment at work when you've made up your mind that you just aren't doing anything productive for the rest of the day.
*Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after DVDs? I don't want to have to restart my collection.
*There's no worse feeling than that millisecond you're sure you are going to die after leaning your chair back a little too far.
*I'm always slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks me if I want to save any changes to my ten page research paper that I swear I did not make any changes to.
*"Do not machine wash or tumble dry" means I will never wash this ever.
*I hate being the one with the remote in a room full of people watching TV. There's so much pressure. 'I love this show, but will they judge me if I keep it on? I bet everyone is wishing we weren't watching this. It's only a matter of time before they all get up and leave the room. Will we still be friends after this?'
*I hate when I just miss a call by the last ring (Hello? Hello? Dang it!), but when I immediately call back, it rings nine times and goes to voicemail. What'd you do after I didn't answer? Drop the phone and run away?
*I hate leaving my house confident and looking good and then not seeing anyone of importance the entire day. What a waste.

Labor day weekend

So our weekend was so relaing and just fun! We really didn't do anything special, but we did have two whole days on saturday, sunday, and most of the day monday to hang out! Usually James has to work starting sunday night so we only get saturday and a few hours sunday, so this weekend was a nice change!

Hmmm...saturday and sunday we just layed around, cuddling, and watching movies and tv. Sunday night we ate a really great dinner at my parents' house and my dad made chicken that was covered in some type of bread crumbs and then baked with marinated artichokes, and onions! Seriously so good, I'm sure it wasn't very healthy, but very yummy!

Then monday we went and ate lunch at his mom's house and just hung out for awhile and then went to RC Willeys because they wanted to buy a new dining table! James and I walked around finding styles of couches and such that we liked for our future house too! That was really fun I love when we do stuff like that! :D

Anyways, I know our weekend wasn't all that adventurous but we are also really trying to cut out eating out so much like we used to, and movies and such, we have a lot coming up for us in the next 6 months so we are doing our best to save up!

Well, I hope everyone had a nice long weekend!

p.s. I really can't wait to get my dress in, its so far away but i really want to wear it again haha! oh the anticipation! haha

Last two weekends (long post sorry!)

So, James and I had another great weekend together! And thinking about it I never blogged about two weekends ago! Okay so rewind to two weekends ago! James and I tried to take off a couple extra days so that we could have an extra long weekend together, well it didn't totally work out that way because they really needed James to go in. We still had Friday night together (which I usually work) so we went out with Mitch and Kelsey (my cousin Kels and her hubby) it was so long overdue! But we went bowling and to dinner at Chili's! It was way fun! I miss them, but we all have very different schedules and don't have many chances to hang out. Not sure what else we did that weekend.. oh except hanging out at his mom's house and we had a fire and made smores (we even had them before dinner... lol)! But it was still a good weekend and a nice break for me before school started!

Okay now for this last weekend! James and I only had saturday and sunday to hang out like usual :'( but Saturday was fun we just went to a late lunch at TGI Fridays (one of our faves!) And then just spent the rest of the night together watching TV and movies, and the part i thought was the most fun, we went to Wal-mart and before we left we walked through the section with housewares and such! See... as a newly engaged couple, we haven't shopped for anything yet to register as our wedding is still a little over 6 months away, but saturday night we did! We looked at the vaccuums, found a cool blender, utensils, pots and pans, food processors and toaster ovens! Hahah... it was so funny because he actually got really into it and was finding stuff he liked and we stayed in that area for a good half hour! lol. It was just so fun to look at that kind of stuff that we will need when we are married! I can't wait to actually go and register for gifts! (p.s. we might have too much fun with the scanner thing they give you...lol) oh and don't be surprised if James sneaks in a few toy trucks or something to our gift registry! LOL. He is like a little kid and still loves toy trucks, we usually make a stop in the toy aisle when we go to wal-mart, and it just cracks me up, i tried to sneak a picture for my readers, but he caught me and wouldn't let me! :D Anyways, I hope you all had a good weekend as well!

Wedding Dress!

Jenny, here is my wedding dress post! lol!
Ahh! I'm so excited about it! this is the light gold version but I bought the diamond white (which is slightly off white, but you can only tell when compared to something that is all white). And I'm posting this because James doesn't ever get on the computer and wouldn't even know how to find our blog haha! So that is lucky for my few readers, otherwise I wouldn't post until after the wedding! I'm going to do my best to not cave and show him the dress until I'm walking down the aisle!
oh p.s. I even got the flower in her hair that's pictured here, it matches the flowers on the dress and will be the diamond white! plus, i have a small veil that goes a little ways down my back! Oh I can't wait for it to get here, so I can try it on again with the flower and veil (they didn't have the flower in the store, so it will be fun to see it all together!)

Wedding Plans!

Well, the wedding plans are definitely coming right along! I found my dress and ordered it! Sadly, it wont be here til January! Good thing I ordered now, it will be here just in time! Maybe I'll attempt to post the picture of it! hahah...But we booked the Chantilly Mansion for the wedding and reception, such a cute place! And now just to decide on the photographer, flowers, bridesmaids and mom's dresses! This has been so much fun, I just love it! :)

Also, I can't wait for us to find a house and be able to decorate! I have been buying things for our house for over a year! LOL... i know, its kinda silly, but I have a way cute set of dishes from Tai Pan, mirrors, wall sconces, candles, picture frames, pots, flowers, clocks, paitnings and other little deorations, basically our whole bedroom will be ready to go the minute we move in! haha! Plus a few other decorations here and there! I can't wait to put it up! when I first started buying stuff i just kept it out in my room, because i was so excited about it, but eventually it drove me nuts and there was just too much so I had to organize it all and put it in the basement! LOL. Anyways, I haven't bought anything in awhile, because at this point I am just waiting to see what we will actually need... like towels, or pots and pans... I don't know just stuff like that! haha...

Camping!!!

So this last weekend James and I went camping with his mom's side of the family to Flaming Gorge! It was so much fun, and i didn't really know what to expect since i have only been like once or twice a long time ago! I should have taken more swearshirts and long pants with me! Friday and saturday it was freezing, even for most of the day! It rained, and the wind was blowing really hard, around the campfire we were all bundled up with blankets and sweatshirts! hahaha, not exactly what i expected it to be like in august! lol! But it was tons of fun spending the whole weekend together and just relaxing! Sunday was a little warmer so we took advantage and went out on the boats, went tubing and just got in the water (it was freezing too!) and then after a few hours, a little sun, and some lunch we headed in and it was time to go home! :( We also got to tell his family we were engaged because some of them didn't know yet! and they were all way excited!

James has the cutest little cousins, and one little girl became my best friend hahah, she was too cute, and there were lots of funny stories and funny things that the little kids did, and i just loved it, because even though i have been to their family parties for the last 3 years i really felt like i was part of the family! it was great! :D I love James so much and we are just so excited to go on our own little camping trips just the two of us once we are married!

oh p.s. we booked our wedding and reception place! I'm so excited i think it will be just perfect! And me, my mom, and James' mom are all gonna go dress shopping this week! (his mom has six boys and no girls, plus we are just really close, so we decided to invite her along and thought she would like doing the whole girly dress shopping thing! And then the two moms can pick out their dresses maybe too!) I can't wait! it will be a blast! :)

Our first weekend being engaged!

okay, well it really wasn't too exciting haha...James had to work this weekend and he works graveyards. And he didnt have to work friday so he slept all day and night friday so he could just stay up all day saturday with me! :) We just relaxed watched some rented movies, went to lunch, and got ice cream later on! Since we only had saturday the weekend went by way too fast! We usually are able to hang out sundays for a few hours...so it was kinda lame! haha,... but I can't wait for next weekend and then in a couple weeks we took off three days before the weekend together so that we can have a little vacation and have an extra long weekend together (5 whole days!!) I can't wait!

oh and p.s. sad story, the day after he proposed i lost a diamond at work! amazingly enough i found it! and so the sad part is that after i just got my ring..finally! i have to give it up for the jeweler to send it out to be fixed...for 5 DAYS! ugh! sad huh? I was so mad! oh well i just can't wait to get it back this friday, im dropping it off in the morning. :(

Anyways, my weekend was short and sweet, but james and i had fun and really are enjoying being engaged! :D

So, question for my few followers... who did your wedding photography? where was your reception (and ceremony if somewhere other than the temple?) And well...where did you start with all this planning?! hahaha...

The Proposal...

Okay, so here is how it happened! :)

James went and talked to my dad on monday night, they said it went well but between James being nervous and my dad being kind of sad, i think they were both having a hard time! hahah. But it was cute and I'm so glad that he asked my dad, I know that meant a lot to my dad! :) So, anyways, I knew that he was going to ask soon but I didn't know when he really would.

I went down to his house and had a few hours to hang out so we decided to go and get some lunch. We were about to leave, when he stopped me in the hallway and said that we should go to Snow Basin maybe this weekend or the next and ride the gondola to the top. So, this convinced me he would ask me then... but somewhere during the conversation he mentioned that he may have to work all weekend (and he works graveyards) and then eventually said "Well, I didn't want to do it this way but I don't want to make you wait..." Then he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! :) I was so caught off guard, that now that I think of it I wonder what my facial expression was! LOL!

I said yes, and then he said he really wanted to take me to snow basin and ask me that way, but since i already knew about him talking to my dad and since he may end up working the whole weekend he didn't want to make me wait any longer! It was just a sweet and simple proposal in his hallway, but we plan on going up to Snow Basin when we can, to celebrate! :D

So, now we are ENGAGED!!! And I couldn't be happier! I'm so excited to plan the wedding! We are thinking that March 12th will be the big day!

The cutest part was when he walked me to my car and when he was about to shut my door he said "Well bye fiance! I love you" hahaha... that made us both laugh, it was cute! :D
